In Enchantasia, being royal doesn't automatically make you ready to rule a kingdom or be in the Royal Court. That's why it's mandatory to enter Royal Academy, the training school for the royal leaders of tomorrow. Unlike many other in-line royals, Devin wants to follow a different path in life. Lucky for her, she already knows what it is. Creature Caretaking. But how can she be a princess and the best caretaker Enchantasia has ever had? It also doesn't help that RA's headmistress, the Fairy Godmother has something odd going on. She seems fixated with preparing the young royals from attacks by the villains. Devin gets that being Snow White and Rapunzel's fairy godmother has probably made Olivina pretty paranoid, but anytime someone steps a toe out of line, Olivina becomes more of a fairy nightmare than a fairy godmother.
Something isn't right with this lady, and Devin is determined to find out what. (from the series summary) But what Devin uncovers will change the fairy tale world forever. Read the first 2 books in the series, Misfits and Outlaws with the third book, Heroes being released on Oct. 5th, 2021!
What I Thought:
This series has been on my summer to-read list for a long time, and luckily it was on the shelves of the library just waiting to be checked out. I was (and am) particularly fascinated with the life of royals and royalty. Even if it is a fictitious life, it is still quite interesting. I also love that it's in the same world as the FTRS series, so I am eagerly waiting for the characters to cross paths. (Jen Calonita has written a short story, so you may want to check it out!) I was so engrossed that I finished the series in 2 days (though that may have been a bad decision now that I have to wait 10+ weeks for Heroes)
