Based in World War 2. Have you ever wondered how the Jews would receive food, medical supplies and ammunition guarded in a ghetto? How they would survive would be in the hands of a courier. At age 13, losing her sister, Sara when she was sent to a death camp and losing her missing brother, Yitzchak. Chaya Lindner chose a difficult and life-risking job, to be a courier. But with her Polish features, it was easier than those with Jewish looking features. Especially, in Poland. After a "failed" attempt to bring awareness to the Jews living conditions, her Resistance group is separated. Now, see how she shows her resistance against the OD, Nazi's and Judenrat to fight for her culture in this remarkable book.
What I felt:
I was in the library, trying to find another good read. I was looking for the book, "Projekt 1065", by Alan Gratz. Also in Historical Fiction. And apparently, my friend was reading the last copy of the book, and she was not even halfway down. Since, she was also a big fan of Historical Fiction, I asked for some good books. She, told me "Resistance" was another good book. And I'd decided to try it out. A very good book finished in 3-4 days because of it's 400 pages. I loved Chaya's brave personality, courage and wisdom. (At times!) I definitely recommend you to search your public library to find this amazing, and courageous book.
*Tip: Try not to read this book just before you sleep as it is very heavy. Find a good, funny book to read a few pages of after reading this. It helps a lot!
