The book begins with Sophie Foster. A twelve-year-old senior who has a secret. She's a Telepath and that means she has a special ability to hear thoughts of everyone near her — which is something she doesn't know how to explain and has made her an "outcast", even with her family. But her whole life changes the day she meets a mysterious boy, Fitz, who appears out of nowhere and is also a Telepath. He takes her to a place where Sophie finally finds a place where she feels like she belongs but staying where she is will leave her in danger. In a split second, she is forced to leave everything behind and start over somewhere totally different. New rules to learn, but not everyone is happy with her being there. The secrets hidden in her brain are secrets that some people desperately want and would even kill to get it. Read this series to join Sophie's journey in The Lost Cities.
My Thoughts:
Some of my friends have been begging me to read this series...for a long time. I was running out of things to read — I finished all the library books — so I decided to give this a chance. In two weeks, I am already three quarters of the way through book five, and I am enjoying it. I must admit, I was a bit skeptical about reading this series. And that's because I have a bit of a bias against Fantasy-related-books — that I'm now glad to say I've overcome by reading the KOTLC series — the reason being some books (not these ones :) are not realistic enough and too fantastical.
Updated on 16 July 2021:
*I will be editing this post every week so I can add and link the new deleted scenes.
It has been about 3 weeks since I first finished the series, yet I have still been flipping back to some scenes in a few of the books — mostly because I really enjoy certain scenes, AND also because I believed that the first read-through of the series (for me) was mostly for understanding the whole concept and wrapping your head around the unsolved mysteries and trying to figure out what may happens (but you are still not familiar with the characters) and the next read-throughs are like, "oh yeah, that's why the author included these scenes," or "ohhhhh, I understand this now..." Sometimes, when you are reading something for the first time, you miss a few clues that you would find again later on in the series, and you may not understand then but once finishing the whole series, you understand it a whole lot better.
