Fig Swims the World

by: Lou Abercrombie

Put yourself in 15-year-old Fig's shoes. Or might I say, fins. Have you ever had an unwavering thought to swim the world...in 365 days? For most, this might be crazy. But this thought from a girl who doesn't even know how to swim? That's a bit, let me say, impossible. But why is she doing this? Because she wants to show her controlling mother, who's affectionately called, Mubla what Fig's made of. Swimming it one lap at a time, Fig creates a plan. A plan for her to go on the journey of a lifetime. But with her mother getting suspicious, will Fig keep the plan afloat and win the challenge, or will she drown it? Read to find out in this sports-genre book!

What I Thought:

So I borrowed this book out for the summer, but I apparently forgot about it until 9th June. I was, anyways, running out of books to read, so I said, "Let's give it a shot!" And I'm so glad I did. This book is in no way predictable and that makes the reading journey that much more exciting! It's an amazing book, but unlike Fig, I don't think I'd ever want to swim the world (for now :)
