On June 23, 2018, the group of thirteen, The Wild Boars' and Coach Ek (assistant coach) ventured out to the Tham Luang Nang Non cave, in Chiang Rai, Thailand. They filled themselves with some snacks before continuing on their adventure. Fearful of their parent's punishment, they decided not to tell them. The monsoon season had started in Thailand and on that unlucky day, a big flood appeared and rising floodwaters appear at the entrance. A long way from the entrance of the cave, the 12 young boys and Coach Ek are trapped. Almost half a mile below land, no food, and nothing to do is hard. Especially with young boys who can't sit still. In this adventure, military, some of the best cave divers, and many others come just to help rescue these boys.
What I thought about the book:
I was really excited to read this book, because I had heard little about the mission. The moment my ELA teacher said, "If you want to read this book, please raise your hand." I raised my hand happily and saw I was the only one. I was even more determined to read this book, because I had been given the opportunity to participate in a video where acclaimed author and super fans come head-to-head to test who has better knowledge about the selected book. The book was really exciting and very adventurous, and I was learning something that actually happened. I really recommend you to read this book. Many of you may have heard some bits and pieces about this event, so you might have some knowledge on it.
