This year, on June 12th 2022, we celebrate three years of Aadya Reads. In the three years it has been running, we have reviewed roughly 103 books (including series' posts)
Out of the 103 books reviewed, there have been a variety of genres. Those include, realistic-, historical-, non-, science-, dystopian-fiction, humour, and fantasy!
How Aadya Reads Came to Be
While this is on the About page, many of you may not know the origin story: Aadya Reads was created on June 12, 2019. It started when I was walking through the halls, each wall plastered with posters with book recommendations that each kid gave. My elementary school was holding the annual festival of reading. It had, in the past, been very hard to find a decent enough book to read. I spent hours in each library, scavenging for a good book. My mom always sent me emails filled with lists of famous books and classics. They were acclaimed but the problem was that since the lists were compiled by adults, all the books were books that adults thought kids might read. It was usually pretty boring. That summer, I decided that I wanted to make finding books a fun and easy task instead of a dreaded one. Thus, Aadya Reads was created!
