Happy New Year! As previous posts have shown, I have found that summarizing the year's reading in a post allows me to reflect, while also giving me a place to store the details. This post will summarize statistics, and also touch on a few of my favourite standalone reads and series' of 2022. Golden underlined titles are linked to my review for that book.
Stats:
# of books read in 2022: 173 books
# of pages read in 2022: 57,685 pages
2022 Goodreads Reading Challenge: 165 books (exceeded by 8 books)
If you are planning to read a few of the recommendations, I would strongly suggest to pay attention to the age ratings or genre groupings provided. If you would like specific ages, you will be able to find that out with a quick Google search. Most books recommended below are for young adults.
Young Adult: these books and their plots are generally targeted towards readers who are around 12 or 13 years old through 17 years old
Middle Grade: usually directed for children between the ages of 8 to 12 years old
To learn more about these age classifications, this article proves to be very useful and concise.
