Top series read in 2021: Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

Fantasy is not usually one of my top reads but Keeper of the Lost Cities was really amazingly written and engrossing. It kept me occupied during the summer, sometimes reading the books two or three times. I also really liked the main characters: Sophie (main protagonist in the series), Keefe, Fitz, Biana, Dex, Marella, Tam and Linh, `and the world in which they live in. Whilst the Elvin world can be idyllic at time, it also has its fair share of stuff that happens and I appreciated the balance of the utopian and dystopian situations that Sophie and her friends always seemed to face as the balance made the Elvin world more relatable and realistic for the readers and not so unbelievable or "out of the box". I was happily surprised to see that even though the book's set in a fantasy world, the Elvin world is quite similar to the "human world" I am eagerly waiting for the release of the ninth book which is scheduled to come out on November 8, 2022.
